Shortly after Thanksgiving, MaryAn and I visited the Celebration Hotel to enjoy brunch at the newly opened Plantation Room restaurant.

MaryAn shares her experience…..

Casual elegance from a bygone era is the only way I can think to describe the Celebration Hotel. It's a lovely property located within walking distance of all the downtown shops of Celebration and just a short drive to WDW. Close enough to be convenient, but outside the main bustle and rush of the touristy corridor of 192. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome, and during breakfast we were treated like visiting royalty (which I could easily picture seated in the lobby during the last century). The walls of the resort are lined with reprints of the Orlando area on loan from the local historical society and paint quite a different picture with orange groves and no Disney icons looming on the horizon.

Breakfast was spectacular and we didn't eat again until late in the evening. The variety of foods, both hot and cold, offered plenty to choose from no matter what your taste at breakfast. Chef Michael was pleasant and eager to please, and when he wasn't preparing our eggs and omelets, he was carving birds of fancy into the side of a colorful watermelon.

There were several rooms open for our inspection and the front desk manager advised us there are many different floor plans and suite options, not just your standard motel room. The prices are reasonable and the hotel is beautiful. It would make a perfect romantic getaway and is situated on a lovely lake. Just right for evenings on the veranda with a mint julep!

Even if you don't plan to stay at the hotel, I would recommend stopping by just to see how nice this property is. You might be surprised and change your reservation for your next Disney trip.

Also new today are photos from the 1999 Osborne Lights Display at Disney's MGM-Studios. http://allears.net/tp/h_osb.htm
