NEW DINNER PACKAGE FOR PLEASURE ISLAND

Disney is offering an entertainment and dinner package at Pleasure Island. Packages include dinner at one of the restaurants of your choice at Downtown Disney and admission to Pleasure Island. For $29, guests received an appetizer, entree, dessert, and soft drinks at Captain Jacks, Planet Hollywood, or Wildhorse Saloon and admission to Pleasure Island. For $39, guests receive an appetizer, entree, dessert, and soft drinks at Bongos, Wolfgang Puck's, or Rainforest Cafe and admission to Pleasure Island. TIP: The drawback is each restaurant limits guests to only 2-5 choices of entrees. However, gratuity and tax is included in the price. TIP: Disney has a listing of which entrees are available at which restaurants. Look them over carefully before you choose a package. TIP: Another great feature is the dinner and admission to Pleasure Island does not have to be used on the same night. When you think about it, admission to Pleasure Island is $20 and dinner at most of these restaurants with all the trimmings is probably $20 to $40. Therefore, this can be quite a deal. Once a package is purchased, guests have until March 2001 to use the dinner and Pleasure Island admission. For more information call (407) 934-7781… TIP: Too tired to walk from the Marketplace section of Downtown Disney to the West Side, take the water shuttle. Disney operates a free water shuttle (boat ride) from the Rainforest Cafe to the House of Blues from 4:30PM to midnight. Take our advice, save some shoe leather and enjoy the great view from the water…

ANIMAL KINGDOM UPDATE

Last month Michael Eisner confirmed that a whole new area is currently being designed for Animal Kingdom. Eisner acknowledged that the park needs more rides and more capacity. Eisner failed to provide exact details about what the area will contain. The most likely addition is the rumored Beastly Kingdom. This area would feature attractions based on mystical and mythological creatures such as unicorns and dragons. Two rumored attractions include Maze of Myth and the Dragon's Tower Coaster. We'll just have to wait and see what materializes… A new parade is being designed for the park. Mickey's Party Safari will provide a whimsical carnival-type environment with an interactive musical component. The date the parade will step-off has not been released. It has to be an improvement over Disney's first parade that was discontinued within the first six months of the park's opening… Animal Kingdom has added Kids Explorer Club stations. These are very similar to the Kidcot stations at Epcot. Children will participate in different games and crafts free of charge at each station. Explorer Club stations are located in Camp Minnie Mickey, DinoLand, Africa, and Conservation Station and are open from 9:00AM to 3:00PM…

FUTURE WALT DISNEY WORLD CELEBRATIONS

Disney is in the midst of planning its next big celebration. The 100 Years of Magic Celebration will be a celebration of the magic and accomplishments of Walt Disney. Walt Disney would have been 100 years old on December 5th, 2001. It is believed that this celebration will coincide the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Magic Kingdom that will kick off October 1st, 2001. Details are very limited, but may include new parades at all four theme parks on Disney property.
