Table
service restaurants at Walt Disney World are a vegetarian's dream.
My experiences have ranged from "good" to "outstanding".
As a vegetarian, I never had any trouble finding something appealing
either already on the menu, or available simply by omitting an ingredient
or two. However, as a vegan, all of my best meals were items *not*
found on the menu, but specially offered up when I mentioned my situation
to the staff.
The following
chart will give you some ideas of the more "veggie friendly"
options, but keep in mind that each experience is unique. Mentioning
your dietary needs when you make priority seatings will increase your
options. I encourage every vegetarian and vegan to "speak up",
and be prepared to eat well. Any
full-service restaurant is happy to accommodate your special dietary
needs - just give them a call ahead of time.

Nice
old-fashioned ice-cream parlor. |

There's

Breakfast
is not very veggie-friendly unless you choose the yogurt-and-cereal
option. Lunch and dinner veggie choices are very limited. Atmosphere
is great, though! |

The
standard menu is meat-centric, but they should have a "vegetarian
option" available by request - or come for the ice cream social
between 3 and 4! |

There
are actually a couple of veggie options on the menu for those of
us who prefer our food to lack fins. |

Good
veggie options, especially at lunch. |
| United Kingdom |
Rose &

English
pub food by the World Showcase Lagoon; have lunch

The
English are not known for their vegetarian food, but there are
options here, especially if you like curry. |
| France |
Bistro de Paris |
pricy

No
veggie options on the menu except a salad, but if your heart is
set on it, call ahead and make a request. |

Chefs de France |
classic

Several
veggie choices at lunch and one at dinner - one of my favorite WDW
restaurants. |
| Morocco |
Restaurant
Marrakesh |
couscous
galore, and a belly dancer to boot, at lunch
and dinner |
Largely
a meat-focused menu, but there is vegetable couscous available (not
vegan). |
| Japan |
Tempura Kiku |
tempura
and other Japanese specialties; see lunch
or dinner menu |
They
do have vegetable tempura, and also a chilled tofu dish. |
| |
Teppanyaki |
Japanese
steak house where food is prepared and cooked before your eyes -
lunch and dinner |
If
the sight of meat and fish being cooked bothers you, stay away!
There are veggie options, though, similar to those at Tempura Kiku.
|
| Italy |
L'Originale
Alfredo di Roma |
branch
of the famous restaurant in Rome where Alfredo sauce was invented;
lunch and dinner
menus |
Plenty
of veggie selections, but perhaps a little pricey for pasta, especially
at dinner. |
| Germany |
Biergarten |
German
family-style buffet; see menu |
Meat,
meat, and more meat, plus potatoes, spaetzle and sauerkraut.
Call ahead to see what they can do for you, though. |
| China |
Nine Dragons |
basic
Chinese comfort food at lunch
and dinner |
Surprisingly
meat-heavy menu, and doesn't earn highest marks among WDW visitors.
Also beware of hidden ingredients such as chicken stock, and fish
paste in almost every dish. |
| Norway |
Restaurant
Akershus |
classic
Norwegian lunch and dinner

I
had my doubts about finding enough to eat here, but there was plenty
and everything was delicious! I recommend giving it a try - it's
an especially good bargain at lunchtime. |
| Mexico |
San

A
"small" vegetarian menus is available if you ask - two
dishes that can be made vegan by request. |

| New York

Don't

the portobello mushroom appetizer are fantastic. There are plenty
of veggie choices. I've heard at least a few options can be made
vegan by request. |
