EVERY Star Wars Character You Can Meet in the Disney Parks

If you’re heading to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in either Disney World or Disneyland, there are some things you should know.

Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios

Not only are there unique rides like Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run and Rise of the Resistance, plus restaurants like Oga’s Cantina and Ronto Roasters, but there are also a lot of opportunities for you to interact with characters from the Star Wars universe. We’ve compiled a list of all of the characters you can meet in Galaxy’s Edge right now, so let’s get into it.

Before we get into the list, we need to cover some basics about Galaxy’s Edge. First, Galaxy’s Edge is set on the planet Batuu, specifically within the Black Spire Outpost. The time period for Galaxy’s Edge is during the Star Wars sequels, so from Star Wars: The Force Awakens onward. This is why you can’t meet characters from earlier movies like Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker.

You can’t meet characters from the original movies or prequels in Galaxy’s Edge.

Another important thing to mention is that Galaxy’s Edge does not have formal character meet-and-greets. The characters roam around the land at unscheduled times and may stop for a picture, depending on who it is. Traditional character meet-and-greets are still returning to the Disney parks, so some of the characters in Galaxy’s Edge can still only be viewed from a distance and you may not be able to walk right up to them.

Some characters can only be viewed from a distance.

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get into the characters you might be able to spot during your visit to Galaxy’s Edge!

Grogu and The Mandalorian

During the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, Disney announced that soon Grogu (that’s right, Baby Yoda) and The Mandalorian, Din Djarin, will be roaming around Batuu in Disneyland!

Disney did not share details on when we’ll be able to start seeing them, but we are definitely on the lookout for when they appear.

Boba Fett and Fennec Shand

Boba Fett and Fennec Shand can also be seen roaming around Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, as well.

These characters might be harder to spot, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled and look very carefully if you’re hoping to see them.

Chewbacca

Chewbacca can be seen in a few places around Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts. He likes to hang around the Millennium Falcon, making any repairs it might need.

Hey, Chewie!

But that’s not the only place you can find this Wookiee! Make sure to look up as you make your way through Galaxy’s Edge, because some characters like to hang out on top of the buildings.

Make sure to look up!

He will also walk around Galaxy’s Edge, so you might pass by him on your way to grab a Ronto Wrap! (P.S. You can also meet Chewbacca in Star Wars Launch Bay in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.)

Rey

Similar to Chewie, Rey can be seen frequently by the Millennium Falcon, so you can often see the two of them together!

She can also be seen on the tops of buildings with Chewbacca.

Chewie and Rey are often near each other, so if you see one, keep your eyes peeled, because it’s likely that the other isn’t too far off!

Kylo Ren and Storm Troopers

If the good guys aren’t your thing, you can encounter some Storm Troopers in Galaxy’s Edge, as well.

Stormtroopers

The Stormtroopers are highly interactive and will make comments when crowds gather, so be prepared to get picked on if you see them! Stormtroopers also often mean that Kylo Ren might be making an appearance soon.

Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers

Kylo Ren and the Stormtroopers are often seen on a stage in front of Kylo Ren’s ship by the Milk Stand and Oga’s Cantina, but they may also roam around the area, as well! If you wait around long enough, you’ll probably see them!

Vi Moradi

Vi Moradi with her fabulous blue hair is a Resistance spy sent to Galaxy’s Edge to learn more information about the First Order.

Vi Moradi in Galaxy’s Edge

Vi Moradi cannot be seen in any of the Star Wars movies, but she does make an appearance in the book Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire. Vi can be seen with Rey and Chewie by the Millennium Falcon, or in various hiding spots all around Galaxy’s Edge.

R2-D2

As a bonus, R2-D2 can, on occasion, be seen around Galaxy’s Edge. If he is spotted, it will usually be around the Droid Depot, but this is not as common as the other characters on our list.

Honorable Mention: Darth Vader in Tomorrowland

In honor of the new Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader returned to Disneyland’s Tomorrowland for a limited time starting June 11th! Disney has not said how long he’ll be sticking around, but we’ll update you when we know!

Honorable Mention: Launch Bay

We also want to give an honorable mention to Star Wars Launch Bay in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, another spot where you can find Star Wars characters! Thus far, Darth Vader and Chewbacca have returned to this meet-and-greet spot, and BB8 will return on July 17th!
