9 Breakfast Restaurants to Convince You to Wake Up EARLY in Disney World

Aren’t you excited about all the food you’ll be eating on your Disney World trip?!

Poached eggs and breakfast potatoes

Disney World is home to all kinds of iconic Disney restaurants, filled with great theming and amazing dishes. Most times you’re usually thinking about what you’ll be eating for dinner or lunch while you’re roaming the parks, but there are a number of dining spots that might be able to convince you to wake up early during your visit!

Which Disney World restaurants are best for breakfast? Let’s talk about it!

Boma — Flavors of Africa

Boma is an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet, and boy is it expansive! There is so much food and so many options for you to choose from. The food ranges from bold African cuisine to American comfort foods.

Boma Buffet

Not all of Disney World’s buffet-style restaurants are equal, and Boma is a cut above the rest. All the food we had was hot and fresh, and for being “buffet” food — it’s pretty excellent.

These deviled eggs look amazing!

We’re talking about breakfast here, but you can eat here for dinner too. You can’t go wrong with either option. Both meals here are good. But if we have to choose between the two, we’d prefer breakfast, and that might be because of POG juice.

POG Juice

At breakfast time, you can order POG (pineapple, orange, guava) juice for the table. It’s tasty, it’s magical, and you can only get it from a select few places at Disney World, and Boma is one of them. You might find yourself asking for a to-go cup full of it on your way out.

Look how CUTE!

But wait, there’s more! Boma is close to Animal Kingdom Lodge’s savanna, which means you can head outside before or after your meal to try to sneak a peek at some of the animals that live in the area. We’ve seen zebras, giraffes, okapis, and more! Seeing the animals could be a great way to keep you entertained while waiting for a table.

Cape May Café

Cape May Cafe is a beach-themed restaurant featuring bright, pastel colors and a fun atmosphere. There is plenty of seating, but make sure to book a dining reservation in advance! Breakfast at the Cape May Cafe is pretty popular.

The buffet is amazing!

There’s a great selection of breakfast foods, including the classic breakfast items plus a few special items like Beach Buns, which are salted caramel pull-apart bread rolls topped with cinnamon streusel.

You can serve yourself once again!

The buffet is nice and clean and well-stocked, even later into the breakfast service.

Here’s a look at what your plate might look like after experiencing the full buffet!

Our haul

There was plenty of food, the Cast Members were friendly and helpful (they even delivered some extra ham right to our table for us!), and our food really hit the spot after a busy morning!

Topolino’s Terrace — Flavors of the Riviera

Topolino’s Terrace is located in Disney’s Riviera Resort, which is inspired by Europe and the Mediterranean (and by Walt and Lillian Disney’s travels!). “Topolino” is the Italian name for Mickey Mouse! The “Terrace” part refers to the rooftop location of this stunning restaurant.

Topolino’s Terrace

During what’s officially known as Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends, you’ll meet Topolino himself wearing his painting garb!

Each of the characters wears special costumes that are completely unique to Topolino’s and reflect their art! Take a look at Minnie Mouse, the poet.

The Character Breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace offers a prix-fixe meal that starts with an assortment of fresh pastries and bread for the table.

Adults then get to choose an entrée from a list including Quiche Gruyère with house-made pancetta, Sour Cream Waffle, Smoked Salmon, Two Eggs Any Style, and more.

Wood-fired Butchers Steak

Children ages 3-9 can choose Mickey Waffle Dippers, Fruit and Yogurt, or Scrambled Eggs for their entrée and a choice of two sides from bacon, sausage, roasted potatoes, and a fruit cup.

Since the food is brought directly to your table, there is no need to worry about missing a character visit.

Sour Cream Waffle

Now, Topolino’s Terrace is NOT an all-you-care-to-eat experience. And the variety of options is not large in the way buffet choices are. But in addition to being beautifully presented, dishes here are also well-executed and, of course, prepared to order.

Kona Café

The Kona Cafe restaurant at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort serves some of the BEST toast we’ve ever had. Yes, we’re talking about toast!

You might be wondering, “What’s the big deal about toast?” Well, this stuff is special. It’s called Tonga Toast, and it is banana-stuffed sourdough French toast rolled in cinnamon sugar, served with a strawberry compote.

You can get it with your choice of ham, spiced ham, bacon, or sausage on the side.

‘Ohana

Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you’ll find ‘Ohana, which is a very popular restaurant, and for breakfast, you can have a very special experience.

Ohana Breakfast

At breakfast, this location turns into a character meal with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and a few other friends! It’s the only place in Disney World where you can meet Lilo, and it’s a wonderful experience that adults and kids will enjoy.

Plus, while breakfast is a family-style meal, we do really love the quality of the food. We highly recommend this one!

Crystal Palace

Magic Kingdom isn’t known for having out-of-this-world table service restaurants, but when it comes to getting a good bang for your buck — the Crystal Palace is where you want to look.

Dining at Crystal Palace

We recommend hitting Crystal Palace up at breakfast, in particular, both because of the excellent value with the all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet — and the Winnie the Pooh & Friends Character Breakfast!

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Next on the list, we have Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

Akershus

This character meal more recently reopened in November of 2022, and it’s where you can meet multiple Disney Princesses!

Dining at Akershus

During this character meal, you can enjoy lots of amazing food, while also meeting Snow White, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, and Tiana. It’s a great value in terms of food and meet-and-greets — we don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Whispering Canyon Café

Wilderness Lodge has made this list with the breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Breakfast here offers up some All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Signature Skillets, main entrées, sides, and more.

Chef’s Art Smith’s Homecomin’

Homecomin’ in Disney Springs is a restaurant that we just keep coming back to time and time again — and chances are, you’ll want to do the same.

Brunch is absolutely incredible at this spot as well, so if you can snag a reservation during that time we highly recommend it!
