REVIEW: We Tried 6 NEW Disney Treats (And We’d Order 3 Over and Over Again!)

April 5th was a big day in both Disney World and Disneyland because the Season of the Force officially began!

Star Tours in Disneyland

New scenes were added to Star Tours in both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland. These new scenes are from Andor, The Mandalorian, and Ahsoka, and we got to be some of the first people to check them out in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But over in Disneyland, not only did they get new scenes, but they got new limited-time snacks too!

The Season of the Force is a special Star Wars event happening in Disneyland Park from April 5th to June 2nd. There will be special events, exclusive character meet-and-greets, and specialty, limited-time snacks!

One of the new drinks you can grab in Galaxy’s Edge during the Season of the Force is the Celto Slush for $6.49. This is a plant-based drink with Pandean-flavored Horchata and topped with cold brew.

Celto Slush

If you like cold brew, this is for you! And, if you like Horchata, this is 100% definitely for you! This drink really exceeded our expectations — it’s a perfect slushy drink for a hot day and has such a good balance of sweet and coffee flavor (but a little bit heavier on the sweet side). We would definitely order this again and even think this drink might be just as good as the coveted Cold Brew Black Caf!

It’s better than it looks!

We also got to try the Wookiee Cookie, which is chocolate on chocolate on chocolate! Seriously, holy chocolate, Chewbacca (thanks to our amazing reporter for that sentence)!

Wookiee Cookie

This cookie packs a serious, delicious punch! If you LOVE chocolate, this cookie has to be on your try list. The chocolate frosting on the inside is the star of the show and really adds a great texture to the whole cookie.

CHOCOLATE!

The Macaron Box was also a hit! It comes with 6 macarons, which all have a gorgeous sparkle paint splatter look to them.

These are light and airy, and the inside has a super subtle caramel flavor. We highly recommend this treat, but as a warning — it’s almost too good to share.

Yum!!

If you’re looking for a heartier meal, the Fried Chicken Baos are also now available at Docking Bay 7 for $14.99. This is two crispy chicken bao wraps with spicy katsu sauce and creamy slaw.

Fried Chicken Baos

The bao buns and the sauce are both packed with flavor, but we do wish there was more of the decadent sweet and tangy sauce. The slaw, unfortunately, had a fishy flavor that we weren’t a fan of. The chicken was pretty tough and was blander than we were expecting, which was a bit disappointing too.

There’s a lot going on here

We do think the bao elevates the dish as a whole though. The flavor profile is sweet, tangy, and savory with a bit of a kick when you eat everything together. But other than the bun, the ingredients don’t stand on their own individually. We think this is an okay choice for adventurous eaters who don’t mind some spice, but we do think the price is a little high.

Adventurous eaters may enjoy it!

Over at Galactic Grill, you can grab the Watermelon Slush with a Death Star Glow Cube here for $12.19!

Watermelon Slush with Glow Cube!

This drink kinda tastes like a melted jolly rancher but isn’t too sweet. The glow cube is fun, but, overall, we don’t know if it’s necessarily worth the price. We don’t have any complaints here because it’s a pretty basic watermelon drink, but if you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, you’ll likely be disappointed.

It’s like a jolly rancher!

And last, we have the Bantha Burger, also at Galactic Grill, for $15.99. This is a beef and vegetable patty, marinated pork belly, American cheese, Asian-inspired slaw, and sambal sweet mayo on a toasted brioche bun.

Bantha Burger

This one was not our favorite. It’s got a kick, and the spice dominates the flavor. The fries are standard theme park fries — nothing special and not seasoned. The burger feels like a lot is going on without tasting much because of the spice and salt levels. Additionally, while the pork does taste better on its own, it is very dry.

There are definitely some winners in here, so head on over to Disneyland ASAP to try your favorites of the bunch for this seasonal event. We’ll be bringing you all the latest news as we hear it, so stay tuned to AllEars!
