REVIEW: We Waited YEARS to Try This Disney World Breakfast Again. Was It Worth the Wait?

1900 Park Fare has finally reopened in Disney World!

1900 Park Fare

This Grand Floridian Resort restaurant has been closed for more than four years, but recently reopened for both breakfast and dinner. We were there on the first day it came back to check out the new offerings, and we’re sharing our full breakfast review right here!

Background

1900 Park Fare is located on the first floor of the Grand Floridian Resort in the main building. It’s a table service restaurant, and reservations are highly recommended.

It’s finally time!

As we mentioned above, the restaurant is open for both breakfast and dinner. The food is served buffet-style and both meals are character meals!

The dining area

When 1900 Park Fare reopened, NEW characters came to the restaurant. Now, you’ll meet Princess Tiana in her Tiana’s Bayou Adventure outfit…

Tiana!

…Mirabel from Encanto

Mirabel!

…and Aladdin!

Aladdin!

Cinderella is also available to meet during the meal! She is the only character who was at 1900 Park Fare before the closure.

Now that we know a little bit about the restaurant, let’s dive in to the experience!

Atmosphere

When you first walk in to 1900 Park Fare, you’ll start at the host stand to check in before being seated.

The entrance

The restaurant truly looks fit for royalty with all these subtle details, like these paintings!

The paintings!

For the most part, seating includes standard tables and chairs. A few of the tables have regular chairs on one side and a booth on the other.

The dining area

On the buffet, you’ll find a variety of items during breakfast, including Mickey Waffles, Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread, the famous Strawberry Soup, and MORE! Breakfast ispriced at $54 per person, while children’s meals are priced at $34 each for ages 3-9. Dinner is priced at $66 per adult and $49 per child ages 3 through 9.

Now let’s eat!

Food & Drink

We started our meal off with some beverages, including zero-proof cocktails and specialty nonalcoholic drinks.

First up, we had the Lavender Lemonade. This is a LOT of lavender-forward! It tasted very floral-y and we were a bit overwhelmed. We didn’t love it (well, Quincy did), but if you LOVE lavender, you’ll like this!

Lavender Lemonade

The So Many Wishes drink was INCREDIBLE. It’s a great option for kids and tastes like raspberries. It has great presentation with gold shimmering throughout, and an even better taste to go with it.

So Many Wishes

We also tried the Cold Brew Martini, which is essentially an espresso martini. It’s fun, it’s basic, and we wouldn’t necessarily go out of our way for it.

During a visit to the buffet, we piled our plates HIGH! Here’s the full spread.

THE SPREAD

First up, the Mickey Waffles were GOOD but a bit soggy. BUT they are Mickey Waffles so we can’t complain too much.

Mickey Waffles

The eggs (you can get them regular or cheesy) are still buffet eggs. The cheesy eggs are way better, though! You can also get an omelette by speaking to your server.

There was regular sausage and chicken sausage, which had great flavor.

Sausage

The biscuits were pretty dry but the SAUSAGE GRAVY?! This was delicious. It had a true southern spin to it and tasted just like southern bacon-grease gravy should.

Biscuits and Gravy

The carved ham was a bit dry, but they give you a nice portion and was good with maple syrup.

Ham

The grits were SO. FREAKIN’. GOOD. We don’t know if we’ve ever had grits this good. They’re buttery, salty, creamy, and delicious.

Grits

Now…for the Strawberry Soup. It tastes like a strawberry smoothie or yogurt. It’s great when topped with the fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

SOUP, THERE IT IS!

The bread pudding is also amazing. It’s so warm, soft, sweet, and DELICIOUS. There’s a vanilla sauce that’s also PERFECTION on top of it.

YUM

The croissant pizza is another great option. It’s a flaky croissant with sausage gravy, cheese, and egg. It’s a super fun kids option that’s actually very tasty.

Croissant

The tofu scramble is the main vegetarian option. It has a lot of flavor and veggies. It does provide a heartier breakfast option for vegans!

Tofu Scramble

The eggs benedict is SOLID and is a tasty option, but probably not the best you’ve ever had. However it’s still good enough to grab.

Eggs Benedict

Now, it’s time for the most fun part. THERE’S A GUMMY BEAR DISPENSER. It was so much fun and a great option for kiddos.

Should You Go?

  1. We loved Park Faire for over 20 years….food descriptions made me realize maybe not worth it…soggy waffles? No…not good….dried out biscuits and ham? Don’t think so

  2. Disappointing. Our family loved the Old 1900 PF, in fact it was our favorite character meal on property, but the new one just doesn’t cut it. Decor looks ok, nice that it was refreshed, food looks good, not that different from before. The biggest thing I can’t forgive is the change in characters. The old 1900’s theme was tied perfectly into the hotel, with Mary Poppins, and Alice, and the Mad Hatter, but these new characters, gimme a break. Someone please tell me what Aladdin, or tiana has to do with the theme of “old Florida?”…..(crickets)….
