My family & I ate here on Jan 30th. Our waiter was named Jeff and was very pleasant. He was attentive to drink refills and clearing plates.
The carving station was very good. The roast was a bit rare so the chef tossed it on the grill to get it closer to medium. The seafood stew is really great. This is one of the best buffets for fresh salads. There are many to choose from.
Not everything will be to everyone's taste but there is a lot to choose from and I'm always pleased with this dinner.

Boma is an amazing buffet. They have standard items for the kids, but if you're adventurous, this is the place for you. There is hardly a wait time if you have an ADR. I love the atmosphere and the music. The server and staff are very kind. The buffet is amazing. They have meats, salads, rice, pasta, soup, breads and an amazing dessert station. I love the streak with the sauces, chicken, fish, the coconut rice, cous cous, falafel, corn chowder soup, potatoes with Afrittude. There's so much to enjoy and the cool thing is that the menu changes daily. The desserts are crazy and you always wish you had more space. The zebra domes, cheese cake, banana pudding and sauces are awesome! We've been going there for 9 years and will go back. This is a place that should not be missed! Come hungry!

Have dined here several times in the past and have never had an experience like this.
The service was very slow, our party had to keep asking other wait staff to find our waitress. Had ordered a glass of wine upon arriving, when the glass of wine arrived, we were almost finished dinner.
We were a large group on the dining plan, we reluctantly left the required 18% tip.
The food was very good, but could not overcome the
poor service.

This is our favorite restaurant in the world! We stay at AKL mostly for Boma! OK, we love the quiet atmosphere, and the animals, and the great pool. But, BOMA is what I look forward to a year in advance! We stayed 6 nights February 2013, ate here for breakfast every morning, and for 3 dinners. It is so nice to have such a wonderful restaurant right in our resort. Reservations were readily available. Two mornings we were too tired for 7:30, I was able to rebook for 8:30 with no problem, and add dinner one night. Host and wait cast members were all calm, friendly and welcoming. We do not have food allergies, but we observed a chef walking the buffet item-by-item telling one couple what was safe and what to avoid for their allergies. I love that it is an open kitchen and you can watch the chefs at work.
My favorite foods are the African inspired dishes, but even my less adventurous DH and DDs find wholesome food they love. This buffet has so many options you can experience it as healthy and low-cal, or as sweet and decadent as you prefer! My Breakfast Favorites: Goat cheese and spinach scrambled eggs, roast corned beef, ham, turkey on carving board with wonderful condiments, grilled asparagus, Pap, African Fruit Salad, Various bread puddings (All Great) with vanilla sauce(Fav!), or pecan sauce, lots of fresh fruit, best breakfast sausages Anywhere, Quinoa porridge with toasted Quinoa for topping, Bobotie. They make omelettes to order also. Kids loved the pancakes and chocolate croissants, sweet pecan rolls, bacon, fruit, and the fruit juice. And, Most Importantly, they have GREAT Coffee!!! Our servers even offered us coffee to go! Dinner favorites:Chicken corn chowder (slightly spicy), Durban Chicken (not spicy, just moist and delicious), Roast pork loin, Watermelon salad, Couscous with dried fruit, various spinach salads,Roasted Root vegetables, Salmon (Had it 3 ways on 3 nights, all wonderful). Favorite Desserts:Zebra Domes, Kenyan Coffee tarts, and (YUMM!) my new fav---Guava Pannacotta. Desserts are spoon sized so you can try more of them!
Pros:
WONDERFUL Food! Variety, Atmosphere, Friendly Cast Members.Cons:

First time dining here, and we booked it based on reviews from family. I am definitely not a picky eater and I do enjoy trying new things, but this was a little far out for even my tastes. One major thing I think they need to work on it describing what the different foods are, and contain. I was leery of a few dishes that I didn't know the ingredients. My 4 year old refused to eat anything, and we didn't get charged for his meal. Probably won't be back, even the desserts were disappointing.

I've always loved Boma, and usually I rave about the meat. Although the ribs were fantastic, and the beef also very good, I found the side dishes to be my favorite this visit. The two types of cous-cous I tried were both fantastic, as well as the pasta salad and the potato salad. Great food, always fresh.
The standout desserts were Zebra domes and peanut butter mousse.

I am a vegetarian. I told my waitress that and she went and got a chief to take me around to tell me everything that is vegetarian. There is so much to choose from. My husband who eats meat didn't even have any since he was eating all of the vegetarian food there too. The hummus is the best I have ever had. We were celebrating our 17th anniversary and our waitress came out with a special dessert for us. It was great. My daughter who ate meat really liked it too. I highly recommend this place

We were a little nervous to try but we gave it a shot we were at universal studios all day and left late so I knew boma was open until 9:30 we had no reservations but I called the restaurant at 9:15 and asked them if we could still come in they said no problem take your time and we will see you when you get here. WOW was I pleasently surprised with the food everyone left stuffed the food was good and please save room for dessert because I could go back for those alone. Every single staff member was so nice from our waiter Jeff to the chefs I will make this a must do on our next trip.
