This is a great place to escape a rainstorm and grab a quick snack. I may write another review after another visit as we did not get to try the cinnamon roll (we had eaten lunch about an hour before and went in to escape the rain) but the macaroons are tasty and the theming is awesome. We do plan to go back for a cinnamon roll on our next visit!
Pros:
theming, water, snacksCons:
Pretty much a snack place kind of small and busy. mostly kid type snacks nothing particularly exciting (other than the cinnamon roll)Reviewed by Jade Review Date: 11/12/2020

Let's start with the good. Gaston's Tavern is themed to be like Gaston's house with antlers and a fireplace. There are wooden tables and chairs to sit at. It fits nicely with the rest of new Fantasyland. The fountain outside with the statue of Gaston is a fun spot for pictures. Theming aside I thought the food wasn't that great. After hearing about the awesome huge cinnamon roll here I was pretty excited to try it. I received a dry cinnamon roll with minimal frosting and flavor. It was big and easily shareable but it didn't taste good. I used my snack credit on this and wish I hadn't bought it at all. They are a counter service restaurant so you can get ice water for free. The water was the best part.

We snacked here in September, the week after Irma.
We got the cinnamon roll, to share. We were there in the morning. The roll was nice and warm but the truth is once you eat the top portion, the remaining part of the roll is dry, very dry. I asked at the counter for butter and they don't have any. Really? No butter for the rolls?
I don't plan on getting this again, unless they have butter available.

The best thing about this place after the theming was the pork shank. It was a great piece to the actual theming and a delicious little snack (to share of course). Now it's a coffee, juice, donut shack that has nothing to do with Gaston. Booo!
Pros:
Great themingCons:

Yes the cinnamon roll was big but if you had a Cinnabon before you won’t be impressed. Definitely get more frosting.

Great atmosphere. Never overcrowded. Nice out of the way spot to sit, relax and cool off. The menu, however, doesn't seem to fit the theme. We regularly visited when they offered the pork shank which made for a wonderful quick hardy lunch or light dinner. The menu seems to change often as though they're not quite sure what to do with it.
Pros:
Lefou's brew, cinnamon rolls, atmosphere.Cons:

Maybe it is just me, but the cinnamon rolls are not nearly as good as they were at the Main Street Bakery. Also it is hard to get one when you are leaving the park in the evening. Lack of seating is also a problem, especially when it is raining.

We stopped in just so my daughter could try LeFou's Brew. We ended up throwing it away it was so sweet even my sweets loving daughter didn't like it. The decor was super cute, and the hummus looked good. I would maybe try that again, but was very disappointed with the brew.

We stopped here for hot chocolate. The place is neat and the hot chocolate was good, but too hot. Generally I find that the hot chocolate at Disney is at a perfect temperature, so that you can actually drink it without having to wait for it to cool down. This was just too hot.
The worst part of this visit and why I rated it a 6 was the lines. We went at an off time and there were not a lot of people there, but the lines moved at a painfully slow pace. Very frustrating when all you want is a couple cups of hot chocolate. The seating is also very limited. It was cold the day we went, so people wanted to be inside and they couldn't be.
I will go back (the cinnamon buns looked great), but hope that the lines move a little faster.
