What to Eat at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

So you’ve booked your trip to Disney World and you’re staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Grand Floridian is one of the Monorail hotels and is within walking distance to Magic Kingdom, and it’s also home to some pretty amazing food offerings. If you’ll be staying at this hotel, there are a lot of dining options available to you. If you’re not sure what to eat during your stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian, we’ve rounded up some of our top picks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus desserts!

What Are My Options?

One of the first questions you might ask about dining at the Grand Floridian is what options you have available to you. The Grand Floridian has a lot of great dining choices, so let’s take a look at them!

  • Victoria & Albert’s: This is an extravagant (and very pricey) sit-down restaurant with a rotating menu and multiple courses.
  • Cítricos: A sit-down, table-service restaurant with light Mary Poppins Returns theming.
  • Narcoossee’s: Another sit-down restaurant — currently closed for refurbishment.
  • Grand Floridian Cafe: A more casual sit-down restaurant with a wide variety of items.
  • Enchanted Rose: A bar/lounge themed after the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast with intricate decorations and small plates, cocktails, beers, and wines on the menu.
  • Gasparilla Island Grill: The Grand Floridian’s quick-service restaurant.
  • Beaches Pool Bar & Grill: One of the two pool bars at Grand Floridian serving up relatively lighter fare with salads and sandwiches. Located at the Beaches pool.
  • Courtyard Pool Bar: The other Grand Floridian pool bar serving hot dogs and wraps.
  • 1900 Park Fare: A character dining location that is currently closed.

Now that you know what’s available to you, let’s jump into our recommendations!

For Breakfast

Grand Floridian Cafe

For breakfast, we recommend the Lobster Benedict from Grand Floridian Cafe.

Grand Floridan Cafe

The Lobster Benedict is two-poached eggs, lobster, asparagus, and hollandaise on a toasted English Muffin. It is $22 but has been described as very rich, so make sure you keep that in mind before you dive in!

Gasparilla Island Grill

Over at Gasparilla Island Grill, you can get some iconic Mickey waffles — because really, how could you go to Disney World and not eat Mickey waffles?

We love Mickey Waffles!

The Mickey waffles at Gasparilla Island Grill are $10.49 and served with bacon. Gasparilla Island Grill also has pastries available at its grab-and-go section, so you can get things like muffins, croissants, and even a cinnamon roll or cheese danish, and head on your way.

For Lunch/Dinner

Grand Floridan Cafe

For lunch or dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe, we like the Buttermilk-fried Chicken and Waffle. It is a hand-breaded chicken breast and malted waffle with sriracha-honey drizzle for $26.

Delicious!

This is great because it is crunchy, slightly spicy, and slightly sweet. This waffle is available during breakfast, as well.

We also really like the Lobster ‘Thermidor’ Burger. This burger is an artisanal 7-oz burger patty and lobster-parmesan Thermidor sauce on a seared brioche bun served with Cafe signature seasoned french fries. It is $25. If you’re someone who’s a fan of lobster, we highly recommend this burger. It’s worth it for the Thermidor sauce alone.

Gasparilla Island Grill

Over at Gasparilla Island Grill, you have a lot of the standard Disney World quick service lunch and dinner offerings, but one thing that really stands out to us here is the Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Soup.

Gasparilla Island Grill

The grilled cheese is melted cheddar on toasted bread with a side of tomato-basil bisque and is $9.99, which is a pretty good deal because this sandwich is VERY cheesy. You’ll thank us later.

And, of course, we can’t talk about Gasparilla Island Grill without mentioning the Macaroni and Cheese. This is a side dish that can be ordered on its own for $4.49.

Macaroni and Cheese and French Fries

This is a great little snack and actually comes with a pretty decent portion size that it could work as a meal, too.

Cítricos

Cítricos is only open for dinner from 5PM-9:30PM and is a signature dining restaurant, so it does have a dress code. It’s not as strict as some of the Disney World dining dress codes, but it does ask that guests are clean, neat, and in good condition with no swimwear allowed.

Citricos

If you decide to have dinner here, there are a few things we recommend. We really like the Strawberry Salad as a first course. The Strawberry Salad is chamomile-infused goat cheese, frisée lettuce, bacon vinaigrette, and spiced sunflower seeds for $16.

The salad is very fresh and light and is a great start to the meal. For an entree, we like the Guava Barbecued Short Ribs, which are served with aged cheddar creamy grits, roasted poblano, curtido slaw, and Brussels sprouts. The short ribs are $50. The ribs are very tender and the grits are very creamy. Even the Brussels sprouts are winners!

We also like the Domestic Golden Tilefish which comes with Jupiter rice chorizo “risotto”, Key West pink shrimp, and confit tomatoes. The tilefish is $46 and is a good seafood option, especially if you’re someone who doesn’t like “fishy” fish dishes.

Narcoossee’s

Narcoossee’s is one of the other table-service restaurants at Grand Floridian. It has the same dress code as Cítricos but leans more heavily into seafood on its menu. If you eat here, we recommend the Lobster Bisque, which has butter-poached lobster, coral, and chervil, and is $16. This is an appetizer and is very good. It has fresh lobster but doesn’t taste too fishy, so even those who don’t like seafood might enjoy it.

Narcoossee’s

For an entree, we recommend the Pan-seared Georges Bank Day Boat Scallops which are served with Parisian-style gnocchi, peas, ham, and truffled preserved Meyer lemon cream. These scallops are cooked very well and the Parisian-style gnocchi is a great addition to the meal, as well. The scallops are $50.

NOTE: Narcoossee’s is currently closed for refurbishment and is expected to reopen in 2023.

For Dessert

And of course, no list would be complete without dessert! Both of our desserts come from Gasparilla Island Grill. The first is the 50th Anniversary Mickey EARidescent Cupcake, which is a vanilla cupcake filled with lemon curd topped with blueberry mousse and enrobed in an EARidescent glaze for $6.29. This dessert is only on the menu for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, but if you visit before the anniversary ends next year, then we definitely recommend giving it a try. The blueberry mixes well with the lemon flavor, making this a good pick for anyone who prefers fruity desserts over chocolatey ones.

And our other dessert recommendation is the Cheshire Cat Wildberry Parfait, which is layers of wildberry mousse, raspberry sauce, and berry crumble with a Cheshire Cat white chocolate disc.

Cheshire Cat Wildberry Parfait

This is another dessert that’s on the fruity side, but the flavors mix well together for a perfect mix of sweet and sour. It is $6.49.

Regarding Victoria & Albert’s

You may have noticed that Victoria & Albert’s is not anywhere on this list. This is due to a variety of factors. First, the menu at Victoria & Albert’s rotates and is not consistent, so we would not be able to recommend something to you as, by the time you visited, it likely would no longer be available.

Queen Victoria Room at Victoria & Albert’s

Additionally, Victoria & Albert’s is an opulent, pricey experience that not everyone can partake in. Given its exclusivity and the other factors mentioned above, we made the decision not to include it in this list.
