NEW Theme Park Announced for Kansas City, Opening in 2026!

Look. We’re huge Disney parks fans…but we’re also interested in other theme parks around the world!

We’ve been keeping an eye on other announcements including a gravy-themed coaster (yes, really), a Pirates of the Caribbean theme park, and even a new park built by former Disney Imagineers. Now, we just got word that a new theme park is coming to Kansas City in 2026!

Mattel and Epic Resort Destinations have partnered to create a second location for Mattel Adventure Park! The first is currently being built in Glendale, Arizona, but this second park will be in Bonner Springs, Kansas.

This is a family-friendly destination featuring some of your favorite Mattel toys! Some of the highly-anticipated attractions include Hot Wheels™ Bone Shaker®: The Ultimate Ride and the Hot Wheels™ Twin Mill® Racer, which will be at both locations.

Fans of Thomas & Friends will be able to experience five experiential attractions and rides including an indoor playground for little ones.

Barbie lovers will also want to visit the park! Why? To visit the Barbie Beach House, of course! This will be an interactive retail experience where you can build a customized Barbie set using hologram technology. The park is also planning a Barbie-themed flying theater and rooftop restaurant and bar.

On top of all that, there will be a massive laser tag arena, mini golf inspired by the Magic 8 Ball, and a climbable UNO-themed structure. Wow! There’s a lot in store.

There is currently no exact opening date, however, we can expect to see the park up and running sometime in 2026! There are plans to break ground later this year.
