INTRODUCTION
Beyond New Orleans Square and all the way at the back of Disneyland is Critter Country. In the shadow of Chickapin Hill and located beside the Rivers of America, this area features rustic buildings and some lovely, natural-looking tree-shaded areas.
ATTRACTIONS and ENTERTAINMENT
Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes – Paddle your own canoe on this guided tour of the Rivers of America around Tom Sawyer Island.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – Take a Hunny Bee Hive on a whimsical tour of the 100 Acre Wood with Winnie the Pooh and friends.
Splash Mountain – Aptly named, this log ride features a BIG splashdown at the end, as it follows the adventures of Brer Rabbit as he searches for his “Laughing Place.”
TOURING TIPS
The line for Splash Mountain can get quite long, and use of Fastpass is recommended, though the standby line is practically non-existent or very short in the first hour after park opening.
PLACES TO EAT
Harbour Galley – Kiosk serving soups, salads, and sandwiches.
Hungry Bear Restaurant – Burgers, fries, sandwiches and snacks. The seating area right next to the Rivers of America is a nice place to relax and watch the Mark Twain and Sailing Ship Columbia go by.
Fruit Stand – Fresh fruit, cookies, and bottled drinks.

The Briar Patch – Stuffed toys, hats, souvenirs.
Hunny Spot – Sweet treats including specialty caramel apples, marshmallows, and pretzels, as well as fudge, cookies, cupcakes, and packaged candy.
Pooh Corner – Features a variety of Pooh and friends merchandise, including clothing, gift items, plush, and pins.
INTERESTING FACTS
This area was originally called Bear Country when it opened in 1986, along with the Country Bear Jamboree. It was renamed Critter Country with the opening of Splash Mountain in 1989.
