Disney’s Aulani Resort Just Announced a Temporary Closure That May Impact Your Visit

It’s not uncommon for Disney to close parts of their resorts for refurbishments throughout the year.

Rides need maintenance, transportation services need to maintain their safety, and hotels periodically update their theming and/or rooms. One of Disney’s most popular resorts just announced a pool closure coming up later this year.

Disney’s Aulani Resort has informed the public that from October 9th to 28th, 2023, the Ka Maka Pool and Grotto, including the Ka Maka whirlpool spa, will be closed for refurbishment.

The closures are to keep the pool and amenities up to Disney’s standards. Other pools and amenities will be available, such as the Waikolohe Pool and Stream, the hotel’s two water slides, whirlpool spas, the Keiki Cove splash zone, and the Wailana Pool.

Guests may hear construction work during this time frame, but not between dusk and 8AM so as to not disturb guests’ sleep. If this news makes guests wish to change their reservation, Disney encourages them to contact their travel professional.

  1. My son and I had the GREATEST Disney Magic at Aulani. In 2020, in order to tour the Islands you needed a negative Covid test. Because of a mix-up our results did not come in in time so we were Quarantined. On our second day my son’s results were coming in so we called the State to get clearance for him. The lady was so happy for him and then asked for my results, which had not come in yet Just as my results were coming in a LARGE commotion was going on between the DVC and Hotel. Being curious, while keeping the lady on the line, we checked to see what was going on. Directly across from us WAS MICKEY! He was welcoming everyone to Hawaii. We couldn’t believe it and neither could the State lady! She could even HEAR Mickey! As they say “Timing is everything!”
