ALERT: You Can Meet Two BRAND NEW Disney Characters!

You’ve met Mickey, Minnie, and maybe even Pluto too. But if you haven’t been to Disneyland recently, there’s a BRAND NEW character meet-and-greet experience you’ve NEVER EVER had. Feeling a bit of FOMO? Gotta know all the details? Lean in close, we’ve got you covered.

Happy Lunar New Year!

From January 23rd to February 18th, 2024, you’ll want to visit Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort for the Lunar New Year Celebration. During the festival, you can snack on delicious eats, try new drinks, check out some merchandise, and more. One of the unique things the festival brings to the park is specialty entertainment — and one particular entertainment offering this year is making Disney HISTORY.

In 2024, Disney debuted a brand NEW character meet-and-greet at the Lunar New Year festival, alongside other fun entertainment. So, let’s take a moment now to go through ALL of the characters and performances you won’t want to miss at the celebration this year.

BRAND NEW — MEET MEILIN LEE AND HER MOM!

BRAND NEW to the celebration this year (and to the Disney parks in general) is a meet-and-greet for some special characters — Meilin Lee and Ming Lee (her mom) from Pixar’s Turning Red!

Mei has appeared in Panda form over at Shanghai Disney Resort and you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of Panda Mei in the Pixar Fest float at Disneyland this year too, but this is the first time the two characters have met together in this specific way.

They’re too cute

To find Mei and her mom, head to San Francisco Street. And look closely when you meet her. It seems Mei is just a little excited about the Lunar New Year festivities and a bit of her panda form might be starting to show!

Because this is a brand new character meet-and-greet we advise that you get in line early to meet the duo as lines for the characters could be very long.

More Character Appearances!

If you’re looking for more characters, keep those eyes open for Mickey and Minnie Mouse. They can be seen sporting some colorful outfits themed to the Lunar New Year.

You also just might bump into Mushu. It is HIS YEAR, after all.

Dishonor on your cow if you miss out on seeing Mulan’s best pal.

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession

If it’s a little parade-type of entertainment you’re after, Disney’s got you there too. Several times a day you can catch Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession, which runs from Hollywood Land to Paradise Gardens.

Lunar New Year Wishing Wall

If you want to leave your mark on the park, stop by the Wishing Wall in Paradise Gardens. Here you’ll be able to make a wish and write a message of happiness and hope for the new year.

Musical Performances

Looking to catch a special singing group or musician? The celebration has plenty of those too, but the schedules vary depending on what day you’ll be visiting. Here are the details:
