Hello, AllEars readers! I recently headed out west to Disneyland (yes, the OG resort) to check out Disney’s new hotel, Pixar Place Hotel.
This hotel, which was previously Paradise Pier Hotel, just got a massive renovation and re-theme. You’ve already seen plenty of photos of the lobby plus the rare characters you may spot there. Well, now, I’ve got a full room tour for you to help you decide if Pixar Place Hotel is right for you.
Quincy and I got to stay at this hotel right after it opened, and of course we made a video of our experience. You can watch it right here.
First off, I was really impressed with the theme at this hotel. There are so many nods to Pixar films throughout the hotel, including a lot of fun Easter Eggs — you could even make a game out of hunting for them all. But let’s talk about the rooms.
I stayed in a Premium View Room, which has two queen beds and one day bed. Bonus? You get a resort or theme park review, but I’ll get to that later. Our room was laid out so that the bathroom was on the left when facing the door with a closet on the right.
There is a set of light switches beside the door for when you need some light.
Like I mentioned, there’s a closet to the right of the door. You’ll also find a nook with a shelf, cabinets, and coffee-making necessities.
Here’s a closer look at that closet once it’s opened. As you can see, it has an ironing board.
On the top shelf, you’ll find an iron.
Wooden hangers hang from a pole inside, as well. You’ll also find a bag for form if you need to order clothes cleaning.
In the bottom is a luggage rack, as well as an extra pillow and blanket.
If you can’t get by without that morning coffee, you’ll find the Keurig coffee maker handy.
You also get an ice bucket with two glasses. Note the Pixar ball coasters — too cute.
There’s a set of drawers and a cabinet beneath the coffee maker.
The top drawer is where you’ll find K-cups for the Keurig, including Joffrey’s coffee, as well as tea, a condiment kit, and disposable cups and lids.
The second drawer has coffee mugs and a set of glasses.
The cabinet is where you’ll find the room’s mini fridge.
There’s a trash bin for both trash and recycling.
Each room has a large TV with a desk underneath.
The desk has all the details you need for things like hotel services, room service, and more. But the best part is the Luxo lamp (aka the Pixar lamp).
Beside the desk and TV is a sofa.
The sofa becomes a day bed if you need it.
Above that is a light and some fun art with Pixar characters.
As I mentioned, we had a Premium View room and it overlooked California Adventure.
Just take a look at that view at night! STUNNING.
The window features a blackout curtain, as well as a thinner sheer curtain if you want privacy, but still want to let in a little light.
There’s a small shelf beside each bed.
Our room had two queen beds.
Each bed had a fun decorative Pixar pillow.
There’s a nightstand between the two beds, with a phone and alarm clock.
Each bed has a little pull-out reading lamp, too.
Another thing I love about the room is the massive mural above it with artwork from Pixar movies.
The wall beside the bed closest to the door has the thermostat.
Note that the bathroom door is a sliding door.
When closed, you’ll have access to the full-length mirror. Gotta’ check those Disneybounds before you leave for the parks!
Here’s a full look at the bathroom. As you can, it’s a pretty decent size.
The counter area is big enough for several people to get ready at the same time.
You’ll also find an adjustable magnifying mirror here.
The counter includes a sink. You’ll also find facial tissues there.
Good news! The bathroom also has H20 accessories, like soap…
…and Body Lotion. There’s also a shower cap if you need it.
A hand towel hangs on the wall.
Underneath the sink, you’ll find extra towels and a hair dryer.
There’s toilet paper and a trash can beside the toilet.
The Pixar lamp is on the artwork above the toilet. Love these little touches.
The shower is beside the toilet. Note that this room does not have a tub.
The shower does include a handheld showerhead.
You’ll find dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash on the shower wall.
Overall, I love how fun the room is. I think I prefer this kind of theming over what something like The Incredibles rooms at Disney World’s Contemporary Resort (which is way too subtle, IMHO). The Luxo Lamp on the desk was my favorite touch! Yes, this hotel is a little small, and it still doesn’t feel like a NEW hotel, but all the Pixar touches could make this a new fave. If you’re a Pixar fan visiting Disneyland, you should consider booking a room here!
