The state-of-the-art Jostens Center is set to open this summer. The multi-sports field house is expected to host events such as basketball, volleyball, wrestling and martial arts, allowing Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex to double the number of indoor events that can be held at the facility. The venue will encompass more than 75,000 square feet. In addition, Jostens Center will offer personalized memory books and other memorabilia to recognize athletic achievements and preserve memories for the teams and athletes that compete at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

A new, limited edition Haunted Mansion pin collection will be released at Disney's Pin Traders at Downtown Disney Marketplace on Friday, June 13, 2008. Because this is expected to be a very popular pin release, special wristbands will be distributed (while supplies last) at the entrance to Disney's Pin Traders near the Pin Trading Table area starting at 9 a.m. Disney's Pin Traders will open at 9:30 a.m. For details on this pin event, visit: http://eventservices.disney.go.com/pintrading/event?id=35710
Mickey's Pin Trading Night will be held on Friday, June 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Disney's Contemporary Resort Convention Center. This activity is free and open to all ages.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers begin preparing for the 2008 NFL season with the start of training camp in late July at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. This will mark the seventh straight year the Bucs have held training camp at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex, the leading venue for amateur and professional sports in the country. Once again, Bucs training camp practices will be free and open to the public during the team's three-week stay at Disney. There will also be periodic autograph opportunities with Bucs players and coaches each day.

The "Sounds Like Summer" concert series, featuring a lineup of "tribute" bands covering tunes from Elton John, The Eagles, The Supremes, Bon Jovi, U2, the Bee Gees and many more, will begin June 9, with shows nightly through August 10. All performances will be at the America Gardens Theatre in Epcot, and are included in Epcot admission. Performers and specific dates will be announced soon.
"Royal Quinceanera Weekend", for Hispanic girls celebrating their 15th birthdays. (In Latin America, a girl's 15th birthday, or quinceanera, marks the transition to becoming a young woman.) Several special events will be held at Epcot August 29-September 5, including a quinceanera ball on August 30, along with a private viewing of IllumiNations. Disney began offering quinceanera party packages last year, ranging in price from $1,800 to $20,000. With this formal, themed weekend Disney will compete with similar quinceanera-themed cruises and other specific-timed events offered by some cruise lines and other vacation resorts. Disney's Pin Celebration 2008 - This hard-ticket event will be held from September 5-7, 2008, in Epcot's World ShowPlace. Event admission is $115 per person and does not include Theme Park admission. If you register by June 7, you'll receive an early registration pin; register by July 7, and you'll receive an early booking discount, bringing the cost of admission down to $100 per person. - The 13th annual ABC Super Soap Weekend presented by Colgate Total will be held in Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park November 15-16, 2008. Stars from the ABC Daytime dramas "All My Children," "One Life to Live" and "General Hospital" will participate in meet-and-greet autograph and photo sessions, celebrity motorcades, star conversations, interactive games and more. No further details have been confirmed as yet.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Although this fan event has been held Veteran's Day weekend in the past, all official releases so far indicate that it has been moved this year to the weekend of November 15-16.

Disney's Wide World of Sports
The Inaugural 2009 Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend will be held March 6-8, 2009. The Disney Princesses are the inspiration for the weekend's events, designed for women of all ages, focusing on the attributes every princess possesses: commitment, courage, determination, fantasy, perseverance, and strength. The weekend includes: Disney's Fit for a Princess Expo, a Family 5K, Kids' Races and the Disney's Princess Half Marathon. Entry fee for the half marathon is $120, and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Race day registration is not available. Two-Person Team Entries for Mother/Daughter; Sister/Sister; Open Division are $10 team fee plus the cost of each individual registration. Half Marathon finishers will receive a special Princess Tiara medal. The half marathon will follow a new course, including the Richard Petty Speedway, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Epcot. Entry fee for Disney's Princess Family 5K is $40; for the Kids' Races is $10. Registration opened yesterday, May 5. More information is available at disneysports.com under "Headline Events."
