Are you spending New Year’s Eve in Disney World?
Sure, it might be a little crowded, but we think ringing in the new year at the Most Magical Place on Earth is pretty special. Believe it or not, there is a LOT you can do in Disney World for New Year’s Eve, both with and without a park ticket.
Magic Kingdom
We’re a little biased, but our favorite way to ring in the New Year in Disney World is by watching the special once-a-year New Year’s Eve fireworks, Fantasy in the Sky, in Magic Kingdom.
This is a special fireworks show Disney has just for the occasion, and it even includes a countdown to the New Year.
EPCOT
Disney has not yet confirmed any New Year’s Eve activities this year for EPCOT, but you’ll usually find DJs and dance parties at various pavilions at World Showcase. We’re still waiting for the official announcement, and we’ll let you know for sure when Disney confirms this.
EPCOT also usually has New Year’s Eve countdown fireworks, although that has not yet been confirmed.
At Disney World Resort Hotels
If you’ll be in Disney World for New Year’s Eve, it’s likely your Disney World resort will also have something planned for the celebration. So be sure to check the activity guide (which you’ll usually find at the front desk) to see what’s going on.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort is hosting an Alice in Wonderland-themed New Year’s Eve party at California Grill called Alice’s Whimsical World of Wonderland. You’ll be able to eat creative food, meet Alice in Wonderland characters, dance to music played by DJ White Rabbit, and take part in a champagne toast at midnight.
You’ll also get to watch the Magic Kingdom New Year’s Eve fireworks from the restaurant’s viewing area. The price tag might keep you from attending, though: it’s $799.
Disney Springs
Over at Disney Springs, you can spend New Year’s morning at City Works Eatery & Pour House by feasting on a Rock ‘n Roll brunch. This special brunch will feature customizable mimosa flights, as well as classic brunch favorites with a twist, like Jon Bun Jovi and the Sweet Child O’ Mine French toast.
We’re sure other Disney Springs restaurants will be offering New Year’s Day special events, too, so we’ll keep adding to this list as we get more details.
