The Worst-Reviewed Restaurant in EVERY Disney World Park, According to TripAdvisor

We love eating at Disney World!

Mickey Pretzels are a classic!

There are over 200 options for you to choose from when you’re feeling hungry at Disney World, not including the snack carts that are around the parks and Disney Springs. But here’s the thing, not all of these restaurants are created equal. As such, there are several that you might want to avoid on your next trip. Here are some of the WORST restaurants in EVERY Disney World Park according to TripAdvisor!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Roundup Rodeo BBQ

First up, 41 reviewers on TripAdvisor rated Roundup Rodeo BBQ at 3.0 out of 5.

One reviewer shared, “Felt a little let down by here, was looking forward to visiting however from the get go was disappointed. Don’t get me wrong the decor inside is amazing but sadly that’s where it ends. The food is very mediocre and not very nice, ribs not fall off the bone and fry chicken. Little salad starters and pudding were nice but again not matching the price tag. I personally would not go back unless menu looked at and also had to wait outside in the heat to be called for our table which was about 20 minutes wait despite having a reservation.”

Another mentioned, “We visited WDW Hollywood Studios today and had made this reservation quite some time ago. I’ve got grown kids so it’s not like we were super pumped bc of the Toy Story movies. We had watched this place over the years and it was finally open this March so we wanted to give its try.
Disney always does a great job immersing its audience into the Toy Story atmosphere. The restaurant is visually beautiful. They did an awesome job aesthetically with every detail. On that front I’d give this spot a 5/5.
The food is just very average. I don’t think it’s easy to prepare family style food for hundreds of guests daily. We’ve been coming to the parks since 2012 and are very familiar with the cuisine at all of the parks and I don’t think we were expecting much. It’s family style bbq. There are plenty of meat options and sides. Again the food was just average. Bbq food is hard to mess up. Salt and pepper on the tables would have helped. For $45/adult you are paying for the experience and not the food. Not bad food. Just average food. Cool atmosphere tho. We’ve seen it. We’ve experienced it. Good job WDW.”

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Pizzafari

Next, 664 reviewers on TripAdvisor rated Pizzafari at 3.5 out of 5.

One reviewer mentioned, “As with a lot of the eateries in Disney, if you want pizza, don’t expect something special. Although the food isn’t anything to write home about, the same for the salads, that’s not why you are here. It’s a great place for a family with small kids and picky eaters to take a rest and grab a bite.”

Another reviewer shared, “We stopped here because it had mobile ordering and we were in the mood for something filling and quick. The pizza was ok – but we have certainly had better pretty much everywhere else. It served a purpose for us but I think we would walk by next time. Having said that if you have kids they will probably enjoy the food and the environment.”

EPCOT

Next on the list is EPCOT, where we have a two-way tie for the worst restaurant at the park.

Lotus Blossom Café

293 reviewers on TripAdvisor rated Lotus Blossom Café at 3.5 out of 5.

One reviewer mentioned, “TripAdvisor says this is closed, but we were able to get quick service here in March – although it was just a little kiosk, not a full walk in place. I got some veggie dumplings and they hit the spot, as I was looking for a lighter lunch. They were pretty average though. Not bad, but just didn’t wow me, and I’ve had better at other Asian places that were more flavorful and filling. I appreciate that they didn’t make me feel overly full or greasy though, which is perfect for a hot/busy day.”

Another reviewer mentioned, “I found the food here to be average in terms of Chinese food, it’s obviously way overpriced. The one thing this place had going for itself was that the line was short compared to most of the other places to eat at Epcot. In general, can’t say I was impressed, but it curbed our hunger.”

Connections Café

Next, 648 reviewers on TripAdvisor rated Connections Café at 3.5 out of 5.

One reviewer shared, “Stopped in last week here to grab lunch on the way into Epcot. This is a fairly new cafe just redone and attached to a Starbucks and bakery. The place is actually really large inside and offers standards quick service meals like sandwiches and salads. The selections are what you would expect and pricing since its Disney is about $55 for a family of 4. The food is ok, nothing spectacular, but its served actually on plates which is pretty good, not like other places in the parks served on cardboard. The salad was ok, General Tsos Chicken, some black/brown lettuce like other salads in the parks. Overall the place was ok to stop into, not sure I would recommend it highly though. They do offer a waffle dessert that was pretty good.”

Connections Café

Another mentioned, “As with everywhere that sells coffee, you have a long queue and a long wait, when I only ever order food (I don’t drink coffee). Everyone else is waiting for the barista and yet for some reason I have to wait when they can just bag up my danish and pass it over the counter when I pay. Annoying.”

Magic Kingdom

The last park on our list is Magic Kingdom where we have a five-way tie for the worst restaurant at the park.

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

2798 reviewers on TripAdvisor rated Tony’s Town Square Restaurant at 3.5 out of 5.

One reviewer shared, “The food here is not good. I prefer my own cooking. Don’t bother with advanced reservations. However, this place is a good choice for if you just need a place to eat at the last minute. I was able to walk-in straight away. Would not be worth booking 60 days in advance. PS, if you like The Lady and the Tramp, this is one of the only things related in all of Disney World.”

Another shared, “We had high expectations for this place and were disappointed. We waited at least 20 mins past our reservation. When we were seated it was a corner table with absolutely no leg room. All of you knees will be touching. The food was okay, but not great, especially for what you pay. We didn’t stay for any longer then necessary and even left before we were fully done eating, it was just so uncomfortable.”

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe

Next, 2102 reviewers on TripAdvisor rated Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe at 3.5 out of 5.

One reviewer shared, “I was nothing but disappointed with the food. I got a burger here, but it was not cooked well at all. I only gave it 3 stars since it has Sonny Eclipse who puts on a 30 minute show singing in entertaining. Hands down the only good thing about the restaurant is the animatronic show.”

Another shared, “The food was served hot. I ordered on the app. It was insane trying to find a table. There were a lot of people actually eating on the floor because there weren’t any tables. The food was affordable in comparison with a lot of the other restaurants there. I ordered the chicken and fries. Both were good. My husband got one of the burgers and it was only okay. The Mac and cheese my youngest child got had some kind of burnt something in it when they served it.”

Tortuga Tavern

Next, 229 reviewers on TripAdvisor rated Tortuga Tavern at 3.5 out of 5.

One reviewer shared, “A basic plain hotdog with a small bag of Lay’s chips will set you back $10 and it does not include a drink. There are far better choices for the money. Do not waste your time. On a positive note, the bathrooms were in the back and not busy so we were able to get in and out easily.”

Another shared, “The menu is satisfactory for a quick food spot but for Disney our four burgers should’ve been prepared in the same manner. My party had to decide who would get the dry overcooked burgers versus the terribly presented ones. The nachos surprisingly were very good.”

The Friar’s Nook

Next, 128 reviewers on TripAdvisor rated The Friar’s Nook at 3.5 out of 5.

One reviewer shared, “Food was actually decent. We had several items but I would suggest the bratwurst or the wild toad bratwurst burger. Mac and cheese was pretty good, too. Make sure and mobile order to save time. There isn’t much theming.”

Another shared, “I guess alot of the Magic Kingdom quick serve places have a limited menu, but we were hungry anyway. I had the all beef hot dog with tots. They were OK. I do like that this and most of the Disney places do serve free ice water to guests of their resort parks.”

The Diamond Horseshoe

Next, 351 reviewers on TripAdvisor rated The Diamond Horseshoe at 3.5 out of 5.

One reviewer shared, “Limited menu served family style. The menu consists of sliced turkey breast. sliced pork loin, stuffing, gravy, green beans and mashed potatoes. Unlimited amount including salad, soda and rolls. That’s it, for $40 per person! If you don’t like those choices you are out of luck.”

Another shared, “The food was very mediocre and lukewarm. Service was acceptable, but not friendly. The dessert came out and we thought, “oh that looks awesome”, but it was terrible. With tax and tip you will spend $50 per person. Save your money.”
