Smoking Policy

For the comfort of all guests, smoking is only permitted in appointed places throughout Walt Disney World Resort.


Effective May 1, 2019, Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts, water parks, and ESPN Wide World of Sports will be smoke-free except in designated locations. 

RESORT-WIDE SMOKING POLICY – As of May 1, 2019, smoking areas will no longer be present in domestic Disney theme parks, water parks and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Guests may use designated smoking areas outside of the parks, at Disney Resort hotels and at Disney Springs.

Check with the front desk of your Disney hotel, resort map or the My Disney Experience mobile app for designated smoking locations.

NOTE: This policy also applies to e-cigarettes/vaping.

A fee up to $500 will be charged to guests who are found smoking in the following nonsmoking areas:

  • Guest rooms, including patio and balcony areas
  • Restaurants
  • Ballrooms
  • Indoor and outdoor common areas

Please note: Smoking marijuana is not permitted at any time in Disney Resort hotels, even in designated smoking areas.
