Disney World is known to temporarily close rides for refurbishment.
These refurbishments typically mean the ride is getting a little TLC. Disney most likely checks that everything is functioning properly and probably gives the ride a little glow-up with fresh paint and a good cleaning. But there is one ride that closed quite a while ago and we’re still waiting for it to reopen.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed for refurbishment on January 8th, 2024. It has. been closed since with no reopening date in sight. Disney has yet to share an official date that we will get to ride this coaster again.
When the ride closed, Disney stated that it would reopen sometime this summer. Last year, the ride closed in February and was open again in May. That has not been the case this year; it’s been a much longer refurbishment this time around.
However, we happened to notice that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster shows up on the Disney World app as “Closed for Refurbishment” on July 26th…
…and disappears from the list on July 27th!
The website still does not show an opening date, and the calendar on the website does not show times past July 20th. But we have a feeling the app might be giving us a clue about when we can expect this rockin’ coaster to be operating once again!
We’re still waiting for Disney to confirm this July 27th reopening date, but we’ll be watching for it! Stay tuned to AllEars for more information!
