Atmosphere

Anyone with party tickets can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4PM, even though the event doesn’t start until 7PM. This is a great way to get the most out of your ticket and get a head start on the festivities.

Sign at Transportation and Ticket Center

You’ll receive a special wristband to wear during the party — pick it up at the front entrance, Tortuga Tavern, or in Tomorrowland across from Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.

We snagged ours from the park entrance.

Wristband secured

If you’re entering the park at or after 4 PM, you’ll be directed through a specific entrance area just for party guests!

Crowds to enter

Then it was time to pick up our guide map for the evening. We previously got a look at all of the trick-or-treat locations but it’s nice to have one of these on hand.

Crowds

For the first night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, tickets are all sold out. So we’ll get a real glance at what the crowds look like for a sold-out event tonight! You can see the lines to get into the party here.

When we got inside, this is what Main Street, U.S.A. looked like. We know this will become filled with happy haunts as we get closer to 7 PM.

Crowds inside

Now we’re ready to party! We have picked up our complimentary trick-or-treating bags.

This year, the bag features a design on each side. On one side you’ll see Vampire Mickey and “Let’s Boo This” on it.

Let’s Boo This

On the other side, you’ll see a bright orange design with the classic Mickey pumpkin and “Happy Halloween” and “Trick or Treat” on it. We can’t wait to fill this up with candy.

Photo Opportunities

Did you actually go to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party if you didn’t take any photos? Luckily there are plenty of photo ops to take advantage of! Look at this 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea photo op. You’ll find this in Adventureland.

or this Mr. Toad’s Photo Op, which is a great highlight to the old ride in Magic Kingdom, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. You’ll be able to grab a pic of this in Tomorrowland.

Finally, there’s the Headless Horseman photo op. You’ll find this one across from Tomorrowland Terrace.

Trick-Or-Treating

Trick-or-treat! This iconic Halloween activity is included in the price of the ticket.

You’ll find several Trick-or-Treat stations throughout the park. This one is in the Country Bear Jamboree.

Trick or Treat

You’ll head inside this attraction to grab your candy. The lines can vary throughout the night so keep your eyes peeled for short lines.

Grab that candy

Outside of the stations, you’ll find these large inflatables letting you know this is where to grab the candy from. You can also find all the locations on the party map.

TRON Virtual Queue

During the day, guests can ride TRON Lightcycle / Run by purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane or joining the virtual queue. For Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a special virtual queue time opens to party guests at 6PM.

We tried to join the queue and we were successful. However, around 7:30PM, the virtual queue was full and there is no standby line during the party.

Parades and Fireworks

One of the best parts about the party is the entertainment! Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade is set to happen at 9:15PM and 11:15PM each night. Check the calendar for your specific party date for the most accurate information. Of course, the start of the parade is the iconic headless horseman.

Quincy is jamming to Boo To You.

Here comes the Boo To You Halloween Parade!

The parade features some new characters this year like Minnie Mouse, Clarabelle Cow, and Daisy Duck dressed as the infamous Sanderson Sisters.

We also caught Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular. This is a fireworks show that happens at 10:15PM.

You’ll see a very large Jack Skellington welcome you!

If you have a MagicBand+, it will interact with the firework show as well.

More Entertainment

But wait, there’s more! There are a variety of other entertainment options during the party. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular takes place at 8:35PM, 10:45PM, and midnight in August and September, and at 7:40PM, 8:35PM, and midnight in October.

Hocus Pocus Villains Spectacular

The Sanderson Sisters are back and they are calling on the Disney Villains for a hauntingly good show! You’ll see some of the best villains including Dr. Facilier from Princess and The Frog.

Dapper Dans fans will be happy to know that the quartet transforms into the Cadaver Dans during the party. We spotted them over in Frontierland near the Country Bear Jamboree.

There they are!

While these options are returning, there is brand new entertainment coming to MNSSHP this year! Over in Adventureland, you’ll find a pirate band and their crew singing some sea shanties.

Pirates Band

Max Goof and his Powerline party pack debuted at last year’s party, but they are returning in a new way! In addition to the appearance before Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, the group will have pop-up parties around the park.

Character Interactions

Another major perk of the parties is the interactions you get to have with the characters. You can find Stitch dressed as Elvis in Tomorrowland.

Ride Overlays

Did you know that some of the rides change during the Halloween party? There are several attractions that get fun lighting or spooky overlays including Mad Tea Party.

Pirates of the Caribbean has rouge pirates roaming the queue — this may be our favorite overlay!

Food & Drink

While there are many Halloween treats that you can grab throughout the day, a few are exclusive to MNSSHP! First up is the Apple Fritter Sundae from Plaza Ice Cream Parlor.

This sundae allows you to choose your ice cream flavor so of course– we chose pumpkin! The ice cream was thick and creamy and the fritters are a decent size and have a nice apple pie-spiced flavor. It was a great deal and you get a lot of ice cream for $8.29.

Apple Fritter Sundae

While at the Plaza, we had to also grab the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich for $7.29. This has ice cream is between two chocolate cookies and topped with Halloween sprinkles.

You get your choice of ice cream flavor and we chose cookies and cream. The cookies were on the crunchy side which helped add structure and texture to the treat, but we thought they were hard to chew.

Ice Cream Sandwich

This one might be a skip unless you’re really wanting an ice cream sandwich, but with so many other sweet treats, you might want to skip it.

At Main Street Bakery, we tried the Minnie Pumpkin Cheesecake for $6.29. This is a pumpkin cheesecake with pumpkin coffee mousse topped with a white chocolate bow.

We really liked this treat and found it to be rich. The cheesecake had the right amount of pumpkin spice and was not overly powerful, which sometimes can happen with that flavor. We did find ourselves wanting more of the graham cracker crust but overall, we loved it.

Speaking of sweet treats, we also grabbed the Skull Brownie from a cart near Haunted Mansion for $5.25. This brownie may be scary looking, but it is delicious. It’s a Mexican-spiced chocolate brownie and if you like fudgy brownies, this is for you. Although some may find it on the dryer side.

The spices added flavor but not really heat, so if you’re worried about that, you should be good. The great thing is how easily shareable it is too.

What nightmares are made of?

At the churro cart near the castle, you can grab the Jack and Sally Pop. These pops are $11.50 and you do get both pops. These are milk chocolate coated and white chocolate coated chocolate and vanilla cakes topped with icing and white chocolate medallions.

Jack and Sally

These are served cold which is actually great since it’s still HOT in Florida. They are very chocolatey. We did think the cakes were pretty dry and watch out for the black icing on the Sally pop — it will stain your teeth.

You will need to really love chocolate to enjoy these pops, but we’ve also had better cake pops at Disney World.

Over at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, we tried a few items including the Cajun Burger for $14.99, which was really nice. We loved the little bit of cajun spice and the burger was cooked perfectly.

We also grabbed the Bucket of Bones for $12.99. These wings were smokey in flavor and sweet followed by the spice of the jalapeno. These make a good snack but on the small side for a meal.

Peco’s Bill Spread

And finally, at this spot, we tasted the Candy Corn Milkshake for $8.49. It had a strong vanilla flavor with a hint of candy corn. This milkshake is not very unique in flavor but great for someone who just wants a little bit of that Halloween flavor.

Nutella waffles, corn dogs — there’s a reason we keep coming back to Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. And now there are three more reasons to visit! Here, we grabbed the Headless Horseman Cupcake for $5.99. This was a standard vanilla cupcake base with a tiny bit of spice.

Cupcake

Sleepy Hollow put a twist on a traditional theme park snack with the Cinnamon Funnel Cake for $8.29. This was incredible and so sweet. The pumpkin ice cream was the star of the show.

Cinnamon Funnel Cake

For a savory option, we tried the Char Siu Chicken Wings. These were $10.99 and were amazing. They fell off the bone and were really moist. They are not spicey at all which can be a good thing.

It’s time for more dessert! Check out the Tropical Graveyard from Sunshine Tree Terrace. This is a Mango Mousse and Sour Tropical Gelatin topped with Cookie Crumbs for $5.99. It is a new twist on the classic worms and dirt treat.

Tropical Graveyard

This was a very summery dessert and was pretty refreshing in the Florida heat. We loved the dual layer of cookie crumbs and the mango flavor in the mousse was very light.

One of the treats we were most excited about is the Hades Cone from Storybook Treats! This treat is made up of Dole Whip Mango and Habanero Soft-Serve topped with Blue Raspberry Shell and Chili-Lime Seasoning for $6.79

Hades Cone

We enjoyed the tropical flavors of this one and it is a well-balanced treat. The spice was the perfect amount and we will grab this one again. You will have to taste this one fast, but it melts!

Cheshire Cafe is home to one of our favorite snacks in Magic Kingdom, and now it is also housing the MMMummy Treat. This is a classic snack in Disney World with a spooky twist for $5.79.

MMMummy Treat

It’s a flaky pastry filled with chocolate and topped with white icing. It’s a great sweet treat, but not unique as you can grab this during the day.

The last restaurant on our list for the party is Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe! We started with the Zombie Fingers for $6.49. These taste exactly like Key Lime Pie. It is tarte and the cookies are soft — not crunchy.

Zombie Fingers

Then we ate the Terrifyin’ Twice Spiced Chicken Sandwich for $12.99. This sandwich is topped with a jalapeno popper, which stole the show for us. The chicken is large and it’s fried well. It’s very sharable.

Twice Spiced Chicken Sandwich

The Snarling Snub was up next for $11.99 and the bun is overly dry. The meatballs had good texture and the sauce does have spice. The sub overall is good and we actually would get this again.

Snarling Sub

Last but not least is the River Stix Elixir for $5.49. This is a Kiwi lemonade and very refreshing. You can tell that it’s not made fresh but still pretty tasty. It’s a strong kiwi flavor and we enjoyed a more summery flavored drink.

Friar’s Nook is the place to be if you like Hercules or you’re looking for a hearty snack. First from this spot is the Pain and Panic Brat. It is $11.99 and has very BOLD flavors. It is spicy with the sriracha mayo and may be too spicy for some.

Pain and Panic Brat

Next up is the Pain and Panic Loaded Tots! These lots are $11.49 and have the SAME flavor as the brat above. Again, loaded with flavor and spice.

Loaded Tots

Lastly, we tried the Buffalo Chicken Handpie. This was our favorite. For $9.99, you’ll get a very flavorful hand pie. We loved the blue cheese and ranch which helped balance out the spice of the buffalo.

    1. Hi Sarah! You’ll just go to one of the locations inside that are handing out the wristbands. Last year I got mine in the building to the left as you enter Tomorrowland. You’ll see CMs handing them out and usually they’ll be yelling to the crowds about getting your wristbands for the party. Once you have your wristband on you’re good to continue your day.
