NEW Animated Series Announced for Disney+

There is a lot to talk about right now with Disney+!

This year Disney+ gave us a lot to watch. Marvel’s shows like season 2 of Loki and Secret Invasion premiered on the platform this year. But with 2024 right around the corner, it has us looking to the future and now, Disney is giving us some BIG news.

On December 11th, Disney hosted an event promoting the upcoming season 2 of What If…? coming to Disney+ on December 22nd. However, attendees were in for a surprise when Disney announced another new animated series coming soon.

A new Black Panther series is in the works. Titled “Eyes of Wakanda,” a new project was teased at the event by Marvel executive, Brad Winderbau. While we don’t know much yet, the logline for the series is “Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story.”

According to Variety, The studio has been developing multiple series set in Wakanda with Ryan Coogler who directed “Black Panther”. A source tells Variety that Coogler will also be involved in the forthcoming animated project.

At the event, two other previously announced animated series: “X-Men ’97,” expected to debut in 2024, and “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” previously titled “Spider-Man: Freshman Year.” were highlighted. While we don’t have dates or much more information on these three upcoming series, we are excited about this news.
