Disney’s NEW Zootopia Land Is Now OPEN!

Are you ready for Disney’s latest theme park land?

The Disney Parks have been busy in recent months! Just last month, Hong Kong Disneyland opened its World of Frozen land, and now Disney is on the verge of opening yet another theme park land. Tomorrow, after much anticipation, the Zootopia-themed land at Shanghai Disneyland finally opens!

Announced in early 2019,  the City of Zootopia (based on Disney’s Zootopia (2019)) is opening next to Fantasyland and will be the first Zootopia-themed area at any Disney park.

Per Disney,  “Beginning tomorrow, Dec. 20, transport into the mammalian metropolis of Zootopia at Shanghai Disney Resort. This immersive land includes the all-new attraction Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, featuring a trackless ride system and the latest in Audio-Animatronics technology, as well as [a] one-of-a-kind atmosphere show where the animal residents will interact with each other and guests throughout the day.”

Disneyland Shanghai is opening the land as part of the Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary and held a celebration in honor of the grand opening.  Disney CEO Bob Iger executives from Shanghai Disney Resort and Shanghai Shendi Group joined Zootopia standouts Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, as well as other invited guests, such as the film’s co-writer and co-director, Jared Bush.

Zootopia is set to come Stateside when It’s Tough To Be  A Bug! is eventually replaced with a Zootopia-themed show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
