Don’t Waste Your Time Doing THIS in Disney World in 2024

If you’re a big social media user, you’ve probably seen folks post their “ins and outs” for 2024.

Magic Kingdom

Basically, they’re sharing things that they’ve done in the past that are not working for them anymore. Going forward, they’re creating new habits that are better for them in their current state. Well, this is what we’re doing when it comes to some of our habits at Disney World. Let’s talk about it!

Here are some of the things you shouldn’t waste your time doing at Disney World in 2024.

Obsessing Over the Reservation Calendar

Since Disney World opened after the pandemic, visitors had to make park pass reservations until January 9th, 2024. Now, Annual Passholders still have to make reservations, but date-based tickets don’t need one.

Gone are the days of frantically searching for park pass reservations that align with your desired trip! You totally don’t have to do that anymore.

Aiming for a set type of resort.

A lot of folks only look at deluxe resorts at booking, when they can score moderate resorts that have the same feel to them for as much as HALF the price. (We’re looking at you, Coronado Springs and Port Orleans — French Quarter!)

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort — Gran Destino Tower

The same also goes for those who only check for value resorts. You can often get moderate resorts with more perks for the same price as some value resorts — especially those Art of Animation suites.

Trying to get on a restaurant’s waitlist last-minute.

We recommend preventing this scenario entirely by booking advance dining reservations up to 60 days in advance of your trip. However, things happen, and there will be a few meals that you likely won’t have ressies for!

Tambu Lounge outside of ‘Ohana

Don’t write off restaurant lounges or bar seating. You’ll often be seated much faster, and will still have access to the same menu in most cases!

Trying to snag a Lightning Lane for TRON or Guardians.

TRON Lightcycle/Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind each have Lighting Lane and Virtual Queue options available. Each day at 7AM, you can try to snag either of these for both rides, and then at 1PM, you can try again for a Virtual Queue as long as you’re in the same park as the ride you’re hoping to experience.

TRON Virtual Queue

Before, you could only try to score a virtual queue for a ride if you already had a park pass reservation booked for the park it’s in. Now, since park pass reservations aren’t needed, you have another chance to score a second virtual queue at the other ride if you don’t get your first choice. You can just switch around plans to reflect your new park day!
