Universal Shares 18 NEW Photos of Epic Universe

Your trips to Orlando are going to look a bit different in 2025. Why? Well, Universal is opening a brand new theme park!

Epic Universe will be the latest park to open at Universal Orlando Resort and there are some BIG things in store. We know there will be five themed lands, new hotels, and so much more — and fans are excited! Universal recently released a ton of news about the How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk land and this included 18 NEW pictures. Let’s check them out!

Each land will have a portal that visitors walk through to enter, with the exception of Celestial Park which basically acts like a hub. This is the portal for the Isle of Berk land!

Then Universal gave us a panoramic view of the land via concept art. If the final product looks like this, we could picture ourselves standing here and admiring the view ALL day long!

You’ll notice certain landmarks from the movie, How to Train Your Dragon, and we can’t wait to discover more Easter eggs around the land.

Here’s an aerial look at the land. The coaster (more on that later) looks like it weaves through the left half of the land, with the new water attraction in the middle.

Let’s get a closer look, shall we? That fountain is pretty neat and we can see that becoming a new must-have photo op! It looks like there will be plenty of room to walk around and take in the sights.

At night, it looks like the land turns into a cozy village!

Visitors will even be able to face off with a Snow Wraith! As long as it’s misting or providing some relief from the Florida heat, we’re in.

Now let’s get into the rides! Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is a family thrill coaster where Hiccup invites “new Vikings to take a ride on his latest glider contraption.”

©Universal

It will reach speeds of 45 mph and has a minimum height requirement, but riders will get to see what it’s like to fly like a dragon!

Speaking of thrill, there is another ride that could give your stomach butterflies. It’s called Dragon Racer’s Rally and it’ll have you “practice aerobatic maneuvers and high-speed barrel rolls on two Viking-made dragon-riding trainers.”

There is also a minimum height requirement at this attraction, but Universal said you could choose if you want a “wild” or “mild” experience. We’ll just have to wait and see exactly what that means!

©Universal

The final ride is Fyre Drill because, in a land full of dragons, you need to know how to put out fires! You will board a boat and compete to “outscore and out-soak” in a battle.

©Universal

You will blast water cannons at flame-like targets to practice putting out fires, a common occurrence when you live with dragons. This one has no height requirement.

The kiddos will also have a place to burn some energy called Viking Training Camp. This play area will teach about dragons and has slides, bridges, and more including a “Viking agility course”.

©Universal

The Isle of Berk will feature a show called The Untrainable Dragon! It’s inspired by the popular “Untrainable” show from Universal Beijing Resort and features characters like Hiccup, Toothless, Gobber, and Astrid. Yes, there will be musical numbers and life-sized dragons!

©Universal

You know how we mentioned live-sized dragons? Well, visitors will be able to get up close to one! Hiccup and Toothless will have a meet and greet and other characters will be roaming the park. That includes Astrid and her Deadly Nadder, Stormfly, as well as Ruffnut and Tuffnut.

If you get hungry, head to Mead Hall! Just like in the movie, this will be the “beating heart of Berk and the village’s main gathering hall.”

©Universal

The menu will feature savory items like a variety of meats, fish, sandwiches, and more, along with a collection of meads and ciders.

Two other dining spots are coming to the land, but Universal has not released concept art for them just yet. See the news on those restaurants here!
