I went to DisneyWorld about a month ago (December 2012) and we were able to test the Fastpass+, we tried it out at Hollywood Studios. There were 17 in our group and I was the one that set everyone up, I stood at the little Kiosk at Guest Relations. I had them all working. We went to the rides and all of the fastpass+ worked but my group. It was a pain because we had scheduled around it. They told me I would have to go back and fix them. Also when we were setting them up, because our group was so large, the times werent the same or one ended when the other started. So maybe for a small family of 4 these are great, but not for a huge group.

Pros:

Sign up from home, right when you get in the park

Cons:

Not good for big groups, cant always get the same time

When I bought this I thought I was buying a prepaid Photopass disc & the ability to put my ride photos on it. I found out when I got to the parks though that it had another great perk! Many of the places we dined at took your picture and then someone came to sell you the package. With the Photopass+ you get those free! At $30 each for those packages the photopass+ paid for itself by the end of our trip! I also noticed that when you showed the photographers that card many of them took extra pictures because they knew you would use them. We were even able to add other photopass cards onto our account - like when my daughter did the Jedi Training Academy. My only caution is that the necklace they give you comes apart easily after a few days so make sure to get a picture of the back of your card just in case.

Pros:

Prepaid

Cons:

Necklace falls apart easily

Set up all days before we left. Easy to use, but kind of locks you into one park for most of the day. Other than that, worked out great for us.

Pros:

Easy to do from home

Cons:

None as of yet

Used them 8/28 - 9/5. Since I am a planner, I love this choice! No more running at opening to try and get fastpasses for Soaring or Toy Story Mania. Had no issues getting into the parks or using the fastpasses. A couple of rides went down during our scheduled time, but you could just come back once it was open without have to reschedule. Used the mobile app to reschedule ones that were not needed, such as the Little Mermaid it was a walk on at 9am. Love this! Usually do not get the park hopper option, to save a few $$ so using it in more than one park was not a explored.

Pros:

everything!

Our daughter's family found some aspects of the fastpass+ very useful, but even though they had the program (because they were staying on property) they were unable to get passes for some rides because the fastpasses were all given out a day ahead of time.
We, who live in Florida, do not stay on property as we live close enough to drive in. We found that even though we got to the park at opening time, some fast passes were already allocated for the day or our return time was long after we might generally depart. So instead, we waited in line with out 89 year old guest who wanted to go on Soarin', and she was never able to go to Toy Story Mania.
So, this person paid the high one day fee and the cost of renting an ECV, and she was not able to experience many of the attractions because of spending a long time in lines.
Good program but it needs to be fair for all park goers and not just those staying on WDW properties.

Pros:

handy for some

Cons:

somewhat unfair

I'm DVC/Annual Pass holder and wasn't issued a magic band so we couldn't get fast passes to any 'big' rides! wait was 120+Minutes w/no line and the fast pass line was 2hrs long! At toy story the fast pass line stretched back past Little Mermaid!! I Hope they change it back to "must be in the park" to get a fast pass.. IMHO This is Not fair people book them up and there's no way those without can get on big rides.. it was a HUGE Disappointment this trip especially since I brought a 1st timer..

Pros:

none

Cons:

not issued to everyone

I'm an avid planner so I really enjoyed being able to get fast passes planned in advance of our arrival. This eliminated the need for being at the parks right at rope drop because I knew we would still get on our favorites like Expedition Everest or Toy Story Mania. I liked that convenience. I also liked being able to make changes to ride choices or times if needed.

Pros:

Picking Times in Advance

We liked being able to get fastpasses from across the park, but had trouble with cancelling ones we didn't want, as I have heard some people do. This probably causes people who do want those fps to not be able to get them, which made us feel bad. We had also feared we wouldn't be able to get any same day passes, as we don't plan that far ahead, we usually wait to see what the weather is like, how tired we are, etc. before deciding what to do on a given day, but we were able to get most things we wanted (except Toy Story- not sure what they are going to do about that one!) Overall it worked better than we anticipated and I hope once the bugs get worked out it will be good for everyone.

Pros:

Liked being able to get fastpasses without going to ride location

Cons:

still has bugs

I like that your park ticket, room key, etc. is on the band and you don't have to keep up with a card. I don't like that they want you to schedule your fastpasses before you leave home. If you get to the park and the crowds are lower and you don't need fastpasses for rides you scheduled but do for others, you are stuck waiting in line without fastpasses to those rides. Also, by scheduling your fastpasses, you don't have a lot of freedom to ride at your leisure because you have to be at certain rides at certain times for your fastpass.

Pros:

You don't have to keep up with a chard

Cons:

You can end up scheduling your entire vacation
