Tomb Warriors – the new exhibit in Epcot's China Pavilion

Lee Cockerell, former executive vice president of operations at Walt Disney World, was honored with a Main Street USA window in recognition of his contributions to the company.

Cockerell, along with his family, served as Grand Marshal for that afternoon's Disney Dreams Come True Parade.

Susan Cody: I was fortunate enough to be walking down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom just as a dedication ceremony began for a new window. This window honors recently retired Executive Vice President for Operations, WDW Resort, Lee A. Cockerell. His family was in attendance, including his son Daniel who is a fifteen-year cast member managing the Wilderness Lodge. Also on hand were Mr. Cockerell's wife, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren along with his mother-in-law, Mrs. Sunshine Payne.

Mr. Cockerell's window, immediately left of the Main Street Cinema, pays homage to his popular cast member newsletter, The Main Street Diary.

Al Weiss, president, worldwide operations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, presented this award, on Sunday, September 17, in a dedication ceremony in front of the Uptown Jewelers in the Magic Kingdom.
